Owen Hibbert (2018-2021)

During Owen’s time on the University of Bristol endurance squad Owen lowered his 1500m PB from 4:10.7 to 3:54.97, his 800m PB from 1:56.37, to 1.52.73 and his 400m PB from 48.96 to 48.80. His 1:52 800m and 3:54 1500m in 2021 came in a Summer season during which he caught COVID twice otherwise he would likely have performed on a similar level to his key training partner Thomas Baines who broke 1:50 for 800m 2 times in 2021. Unfortunately, BUCS competitions were cancelled due to COVID for the majority of the time Owen was at the University but he still placed 4th in the Welsh Senior 800m championships in 2021 and 10th in the Welsh National Senior Cross Country Championships in 2020.
