FAQs

Will I be too slow?

Not at all. At UBACCC, we pride ourselves on our inclusivity. We cater for a wide range of abilities and disciplines across our different sessions from the chatty sociability of Docks Run to the pure speed of interval sessions. Furthermore, there will always be members of committee around to make sure no one is left behind. Come along and there will be a session for you.

What if I can't come to every session?

The point of university societies is to have fun. For some, that will be coming to every session week in week out, for others, it will be popping along to the social every now and again for a catch up. As in all areas of UBACCC, there is no pressure and you are free to do as much or as little as you wish.

I missed the Give It A Go sessions at the start of term. Can I still be involved?

Of course! Give It A Go sessions are a great introduction to the club and an opportunity to get to know other newbies. However, the start of the year is manic and it is completely understandable if you cannot make them. If so, come along to any of our other sessions and, if you are unsure, just let a member of committee know and they will answer any questions you have.

I am new. Do I need membership to come to sessions?

In short, no. Come along to any of our sessions to get a feel for the club and see if it is for you. If not, we shall be sad to see you go, but if it is, then we can think about membership.

N.B. Whilst membership is important for financing club events, we want the club to be as inclusive as possible. Nobody should be priced out of running, so if finances are a problem speak to Sophie (Club Captain) or Megan (Treasurer) and we will be able to sort something out.
